Before joining Yale, Brent worked at Royal Thimphu College in Bhutan, where he served as Head Librarian and also taught in the Anthropology Program.  Similarly, he also previously worked as a librarian at universities in Cambodia and in Thailand.  In the early 2000’s, he held fixed-term positions pertaining to South Asia at the libraries of Duke University and the University of Washington.  His interests range from paleography to ethnomusicology and much else.
